Fuck her. If she was exposed to it, it was her fault. It is ALWAYS clearly stated when there is an area where asbestos is being used.

  4. jordan4270 jordan4270 February 21, 2008

No, it CAN take between 5- 50 years. It depends on how much exposure there was. And, like i said before, if there is an area with asbestos, the public is almost always well wanred and precautions are taken. In accordance with your theory, her dumbass parents must have taken her a dump where people work with garbage traced with asbestos. This disease is almost 100% preventable.

  5. jordan4270 jordan4270 February 29, 2008

Know nothing? Im a fourth year biotechnology student at UofT, what the hell do you think I study? I may be “rude”, but i certainly DO know a lot. And it has to be LONGTERM exposure. Its like smoking cigarettes, one wont kill you, but many will. So shut the fuck up and get YOUR facts straight. Scum.

  7. Andrew Bedel Andrew Bedel April 19, 2008

I hope the hell you are joking! I was not around the asbestos to my knowledge I was told I would have been under 10 years old when I was exposed to it, tell me how was it my fault?? This cancer is a very very painful thing to ever go through, living with it is just as hard as dying with it.

  8. jordan4270 jordan4270 April 19, 2008

    Do you have the disease?

  9. Andrew Bedel Andrew Bedel April 19, 2008

You really should look it up and study it because you would learn alot. What sucks is people don’t know about it and it makes it harder for us who deal with it everyday

  10. Andrew Bedel Andrew Bedel April 19, 2008

Is your wife still alive?? I need someone to talk to, I have had mesothelioma for 1 year. I am 32 years old

  11. Andrew Bedel Andrew Bedel April 21, 2008

I am using my husbands sign on, and yes I have the cancer, or hopefully had.I never was around asbestos, I have been through so many precedures this last year that no one could ever imagine going through, I now have one lung and that was not the hardest part, being told your going to die just hopefully later rather than sooner. Try telling that to your 5 year old.

  12. makezmuzic makezmuzic April 22, 2008

What an Ass you are Jordan. NO, it’s not always stated when there is any in ther area or its being used. At this moment there are a bunch of money hungry contractors trying to get over on people by building houses on an old asbestos dump site in Pennsylvania.

50% of the people that die of meso are the women who were exposed from washing their husbands clothes.

With any luck, your condoum with break and you’ll find out first hand about contracting a terminal disease.

  13. Andrew Bedel Andrew Bedel April 22, 2008

My father was a fire fighter does that mean I deserved to get mesothelioma second hand??

  14. Andrew Bedel Andrew Bedel April 22, 2008

Maybe people that don’t have mesothelioma or don’t know anything about it, shouldn’t talk about it.

  15. makezmuzic makezmuzic April 24, 2008

I think this Jordan is just a high, or middle school student pretending to be a college student.

An adult would not be spouting such disrespectful, ignorant statements. He or she is a troll with no learned values yet.
You are so right, they know nothing about meso.

My heart goes out to your Father, you and your family. After spending his life helping people, it is the most unkind cut of all that he would have to deal with this terrible disease.

    Asbestos MUST be banned!

Construction workers often remove it improperly during renovation and spread it throughout buildings. This way it exposes other tenants in a building. No telling how much asbestos I’ve been exposed to in NYC.

In the western world. Several of the asbestos companies banned in the western world moved to for example India and Africa where it’s still widely used..

Everybody, we should all from an army to destroy every asbestos source including natural occuring asbestos. After having lectures of Occupational Health and Safety that included info about asbestos and from watching asbestos videos, I am now really pissed off. Who’s with me to destroy the worlds deadliest and annoying FIBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. XelleldIsWeird XelleldIsWeird June 23, 2017

Good thing it’s rarely used in any western country nowadays. Only things I know of that it’s still being used for is brake pads and a small number of roof tiles. The problem that’s causing people to still be getting mesothelioma is that old houses can be bought very cheaply compared to newer ones, nobody’s been called in to remove the asbestos that’s still in those houses, and then people frequently renovate these old houses, which is going to mean cutting into the asbestos-containing materials. The problem isn’t just having it in your home – as long as it’s left alone and cared for properly to prevent any fibers from becoming friable, it is completely harmless – the issue with it is that most people don’t seem to be smart enough not to go cutting into walls, ceilings, and whatever else they need to for a remodel before they know what’s behind what they’re cutting into or what the material used in that part of the house is made up out of.
