Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2017.
According to CNN, Julia talks about how cancer has influenced her life in a new Washington Post interview, published on Wednesday.
The Veep actress says that she never considered quitting the show, despite undergoing chemotherapy.
She explains, “The whole thing was so astounding. I thought I could muscle through it, and to a certain extent, I did, because we did have table reads of scripts every three weeks. But I got really ill, so I couldn’t have ever shot anything during that period of time.”
Julia also admits that she’s still processing everything when it comes to her diagnosis.
She adds, “You go through life not considering the eventual reality that you’re going to bite the dust, and so is everybody around you.”
But through it all, she says that entertainment has been her saving grace.
She explains, “I love making people laugh…And I love making people cry even, and I find the pursuit of a truthful performance to be deeply satisfying to my core.”
